along the shores of Chesapeake Bay. Based on the research methods
utilized by Dr. Patricia Kelley of the University of North Carolina
Wilmington, this module goes through the process
geologists utilize when they do research, with particular emphasis
placed upon experimental design and data integrity. This module
covers all aspects of a good field study by engaging in a comprehensive
exploration of evolutionary change via the use of an integrated blend
of written text, multimedia, and photographs. The field trip
begins with and in depth background of the field area, covers the
process of collecting and quantify fossil data, and end with a
discription on how geologists organize and
utilize a wide variety of data to quantify evolutionary change in the
